5 Key Takeaways From Bitrue's AgentLayer AMA

On January 9th we held an AMA session with Professor Liu Yang from the AgentLayer team so that we could get a deep understanding of what their project is trying to accomplish and share this knowledge with all of our users. The entire 30 minute session is available for listening right now, but for those of you who want the key facts in a distilled format, here are the 5 most important things we learned during the session.

1. AgentLayer Is designed to make it easy to innovate

The blockchain industry is swirling with ideas about how to improve society, but there are tons of roadblocks that make it difficult to convert these ideas into real products and services. Factors like scalability and interoperability are very difficult to address because they require a lot of specialized knowledge and a lot of time investment.

AgentLayer empowers developers by providing a network for AI agents. These agents are programs that function independently, are fully automated, and are incredibly efficient - in other words, they take care of many of the tasks that prevent or delay new ideas from making it to market.

2. AgentLayer has come a long way in just one year

AgentLayer launched at the end of November 2023, meaning that it's been operational for just over one year. Despite that it has already achieved several important milestones, such as the launch of its testnet in March 2024 with more than 2 million participants which proved there was a large amount of interest in the product. They also completed 3 airdrops throughout the year which attracted more than 80,000 users, allowing them to rapidly grow their community and generate new interest among the wider crypto audience. And in September they completed their Token Generation Event on their base chain, allowing their token to subsequently be listed on several exchanges including Bitrue, where it is available for trading now.

3. AgentLayer's decentralization gives it an edge over centralized competitors

Scalability is one of AgentLayer's core ideals, and it achieves this through its AgentOS layer. Unlike traditional centralized computing options, AgentOS integrates offchain services with onchain operations, so AI agents can operate in a decentralized manner. The result is a seamless contractual framework that governs creation, operation, and ownership rights of the AI services directly on chain to ensure transparency and trust.

The design of AgentLayer is modular, allowing for continuous upgrades according to the evolving needs of consumers. It's not just scalable, but also robust, future-proof, and versatile.

4. The AGENT token is the glue holding the ecosystem together

The AGENT token is designed to bring value to services, developers, and also users, serving as the backbone of the entire AgentLayer ecosystem. Transactions happen using the token, so it's used by developers to deploy their agents, as well as by users to actually access the agents and their services. In addition, network security is governed by node operators, and these operators are incentivized via reward distributions which ensure maximal decentralization of infrastructure.

To ensure that tokens retain value over time, a token burn mechanism is also used, with 25% or revenue burned to increase scarcity and increase coin prices.

5. AgentLayer's LLM is built for the future

With many LLMs launching, AgentLayer's stands out because it has been built from the ground up for a decentralized world. It leverages expert architecture allowing for dynamic resource allocation, leading to enhanced performance and efficiency. Their model is already ranked as one of the top 3 open source models, showing that they're not just keeping pace - they're setting the benchmark that other LLMs are judged by.

Their LLM is also incredibly versatile, and combined with AgentOS it gives developers a full toolkit for their specific requirements, allowing for seamless integration with other leading tech.

Thank you very much to Professor Liu Yang for taking time out of their day to come and answer our community’s questions! We’ll have many more AMAs with leading blockchain figures in the future, so make sure you follow Bitrue on X to catch them live.
